Nearly 80 entrepreneurs came to UNB May 14 to meet the co-founder of The Second Cup, initiated by @startup_Canada Thank You @dshulkla72

UNB Professor Dr. Dhirendra Shukla took the initiative when Startup Canada told him that Frank O’Dea, the former homeless man and co-founder of the Second Cup was coming to Fredericton, to speak at the Habitat for Humanity National Conference. Dr. Shukla contacted O’Dea’s office to invite him to speak at UNB. He then rounded up sponsors who would help pay for the event, and then advertised it to the community.

He says that it was a flurry of activity to get it all done in a short period of time. In fact, he says that the funding came through only 2 weeks before the event. He reported that it turned out to be a wonderful session and they are very appreciative of Frank O’Dea’s rescheduling his return flight in order to make the time to talk with our group of Fredericton entrepreneurs.

A speech by Frank O'Dea will be a highlight of your event.

Frank's inspiring story is retold in his best-selling memoir "When All You Have is Hope", available in bookstores and online. Buy a copy for someone who is important to you.
